Level 5 Announces Professor Layton and the Unwound Future HD for Android, Out This Month

The highly acclaimed Professor Layton and the Unwound Future is coming to Android, following ports of the other two games in the popular DS trilogy: Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box and Professor Layton and the Curious Village.

First released all the way back in 2010, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future introduces the concept of time travel into the puzzle series, as an older version of Layton’s apprentice Luke shows up, explaining with characteristic restraint that he’s in “quite a predicament”, and enlists the professor to help fix the future.

Gameplay-wise, the Unwound Future follows the same format as its predecessors. You go from person to person in a charming cartoon environment, solving discrete brainteaser-style puzzles (as opposed to adventure game-style puzzles) to advance the story.

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future will be out on Android on July the 13th. No price has been announced, but the previous games were both $9.99 so this one probably will be too.
