Mad Catz announces Project M.O.J.O, a micro-console powered by Android and agreement signed with Nvidia for GameSmart compatibility

Mad Catz is starting to really focus on mobile gaming and with good reason too since it is now becoming a major force in the gaming industry. Back during CES 2013 the company unveiled a series of peripherals that would be compatible with most platforms including mobile for mobile gamers. Mad Catz has now announced a partnership with Nvidia revolving around their GameSmart Technology and any product that uses that technology will be compatible with Nvidia Tegra-based devices.

The compatibility will be built right into the GameSmart products so there won’t be any need for any sort of real set-up aside from tweaking your peripheral’s settings to how you want them. The entire line of products that feature GameSmart technology will be compatible with Tegra devices. This includes the R.A.T.M. mouse, F.R.E.Q.M headset, M.O.U.S.9 wireless mouse and the C.T.R.L.R wireless gamepad, all of which can already connect through Bluetooth already.

Our GameSmart initiative aims to enable core gaming on smart devices, similar to the console living room or PC gaming experience. By adding Tegra compatibility to our GameSmart control products, we can provide an enhanced and optimized gaming experience to TegraZone gamers. We are excited to be working closely with NVIDIA and believe it fits perfectly with our long-term strategy of designing innovative products for passionate gamers. – Darren Richardson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc.

Also in the flurry of Mad Catz announcements for E3 2013 was the mentioning of Project M.O.J.O. which is an Android-powered micro-console. This console will also be seamlessly compatible with any GameSmart product as well. Unfortunately the company doesn’t go into detail when it comes to Project M.O.J.O. including what hardware will be coming with it, how big it actually is or any other features. We will have to wait until E3 2013 begins before we get further details on this product.
