ZiMAD is taking you on a nostalgic trip with its latest crossover. ZiMAD’s Magic Jigsaw Puzzles has teamed up with ZeptoLab to bring the popular green candy-lover Om Nom from the 2010 hit Cut the Rope.
The ZeptoLab × Magic Jigsaw Puzzles collaboration will continue through the end of the year. It will be rolling out limited-time puzzle packs that bring cosy gameplay with early 2010s charm.
What’s in store in the Magic Jigsaw Puzzles x Om Nom collab?
At launch, you can dive into two themed collections, which are Om Nom Adventures and Happy B-Day, Om Nom. Each collection captures the playful energy of the character’s universe in a new format.
The Magic Jigsaw Puzzles x Om Nom crossover’s theme is Nomstalgia. According to team ZiMAD, it’s an attempt to turn every puzzle into a sweet fragment of memory from the 2010s era of candy-collecting and star-chasing.
Each puzzle pack follows Om Nom through different scenes. He’ll be celebrating his birthday, exploring familiar Cut the Rope settings, and even joining in on upcoming seasonal themes.
The crossover will also include special in-game events and community activities. More themed packs are lined up for release through the fall and winter, with new artwork and challenges.
For many mobile gamers, Om Nom was among the first characters they met on a touchscreen. Cut the Rope exploded in popularity soon after its 2010 debut on the App Store. Around the same time, Magic Jigsaw Puzzles also became one of the top puzzle games on mobile.
According to Elizaveta Savenkova, CBDO at ZiMAD, the idea behind the collaboration was to unite two communities that appreciate different aspects of gaming. Magic Jigsaw Puzzles players enjoy the visual serenity of puzzles. Meanwhile, Om Nom fans feel a sense of nostalgia for the colourful simplicity of early mobile games.
