In April, KEMCO launched Metro Quester, a dungeon crawler, hack & slash RPG. Now, they’re gearing up to drop its sequel, Metro Quester | Osaka. As evident from the name, Osaka replaces Tokyo as the new post-apocalyptic backdrop.
Ready for another adventure?
The adventure moves to Osaka, also known as the city of water. You’ll see the Japanese city turned into a labyrinth of breakable walls, creature nests, hidden vaults, and food caches. You’ll need to collect Purification Fuel to keep moving and gather enough food to stay alive.
Metro Quester | Osaka has 32 different characters and 8 classes. You’ll see classes like Detonator, Buddhist, Professor, Stealer, Scientist, Mobile Police, Officer, and Ranger.
The battles aren’t the usual turn-based routine. You can stack up to three actions in one turn as long as you have enough Action Points. But enemies can do the same and even overlap turns. You’ll need to think about your Hate value too, which controls who the monsters are going to smack next.
Outside combat, you can search for equipment dropped by enemies or found in vaults. Once you get your gear, you decide whether to upgrade it, modify it, or break it down for parts.
Metro Quester | Osaka includes a bestiary full of weird and nasty creatures like Beyond Inedible, Bloodsucker Bat, Viral Towering Roundleaf, Thorn Comber, Outburst Shroom, Abnormal Antlion, Caustic Flesh Wall, and Scavenger Mawshroom.
What’s New in Metro Quester | Osaka?
It adds new features, like a canoe for travelling along the city’s waterways and a new group of questers. You’ll also find a prequel map that reveals more about Osaka before it turned into a dungeon.
You can also choose your starting party this time, adding more replay value alongside the already included NEW GAME+ mode. The game supports English and Japanese, while controllers aren’t supported.
You can pre-register for the game on the Google Play Store. It’s set to drop on July 31st, 2025.
