Microsoft is making an Xbox mobile store with a potential launch for next year. Microsoft already owns massive IPs such as Candy Crush, Elder Scrolls Blades, and COD Mobile, so this comes as unsurprising news considering they already have the foundation for their own mobile platform.

The Future Of Microsoft

This news all comes from the Iron Lords Podcast, which featured Tom Warren, who gave some insight into the future of Microsoft and what we can expect. Totaling in at just shy of 5 hours, the podcast covers a lot, but here are the highlights. You can check out the podcast here if you don’t want to miss anything.

Of course, the leading highlight of this news is the announcement of the Xbox Mobile store, which is made possible by how many games Microsoft now owns, warranting their own platform. Microsoft will be getting their own app external to both the Play Store and App Store. This compares to the likes of the Samsung Store on Galaxy devices.

We don’t know how they will handle this change as most users are typically quite comfortable with using the App Store and Play Store. But, a factor in this may be the Xbox achievements and in-game points. This may sway players to make the commitment to the upcoming mobile store. This also benefits Microsoft as the pay cut to supporting apps won’t be necessary if they have their own!

What Else Was Discussed?

In 5 hours there’s a lot of stuff to talk about. So, let’s go over the remainder highlights from the podcast. During the chat, Tom Warren also confirmed that it was Microsoft that handled and fixed the old Xbox 360 servers for Call of Duty, not Activision as some may have believed.

Ubisoft is also now required to license ABK cloud games to Microsoft but not on the Game Pass. According to Tom Warren, the Game Pass will remain unaffected by this. Tom speculates that he doesn’t believe there will be a ton of ABK integration as of right now.

Finally, on a rather exciting note. Tom announced he is hoping for some Call of Duty titles to drop as early as tomorrow with the next game pass! In the meantime, however, why not check out some other news from today. There Are Stranger Things Afoot In Kingdom Eighties.
