Bethesda has announced a new Doom game titled Mighty Doom. However, this isn’t a sequel to the latest game, Doom Eternal. Instead, it’s a mobile-exclusive, and a Doom experience like nothing before.

Mighty Doom puts you in the shoes of Mini Slayer, who embarks on a task to retrieve their rabbit, Mini Daisy. The stylised, over-the-top violence returns in a run-and-gun, fun, and satisfying mobile game.

Mighty Doom

Mighty Doom sees Bethesda take a new approach to demon killing. It’s a roguelite in which death only makes you stronger. Doom has always been a bit of a dungeon crawler, so it’s only natural Bethesda would eventually incorporate roguelite features into the series.

But that’s not the only thing that’s new to Doom. Instead of the usual first-person action, the studio presents the game from a top-down perspective. This brings a new vibe to Doom that’s never been present before, giving you a new experience altogether.

Aside from these additions, the game’s not too different from regular Doom. You’ll still be working your way through hordes of demons and monsters across a range of different maps. Only now, you view it from above.

Release Date And Pre-Registration

Bethesda has also shared the game’s release date in a post on the official website. It launches in select countries on March 21 on iOS and Android.

On top of this news, the trailer shows us that pre-registration for the game is currently open. Bethesda hasn’t promised any pre-registration rewards just yet, but it has confirmed that playing straight from launch will give you access to the Mini Slayer’s Pack.

This includes the Baron of Hell Heavy Cannon Weapon Skin, the Cacodemon Rocket Launcher Weapon Skin, 3 Equipment Keys, 1 Weapon Key, and 80 Crystals.

You can pre-register for Mighty Doom on Google Play now.

In the meantime, have a read of our article detailing the other top-down, run-and-gun game that’s come out this year in our Tomb Raider Reloaded article.
