After announcing it in May, fantasy sandbox MMORPG Albion Online has finally dropped its much-awaited update, the Abyssal Depths. With it, Sandbox Interactive has rolled out a new mode into the world of swords and sorcery.
What Does Abyssal Depths Bring to MMORPG Albion Online?
The update is aptly called the Depths because it brings a new type of dungeon hidden within ancient, demon-infested aqueducts. It’s a tight underground labyrinth where groups of two or three players battle both monsters and other adventurers.
In the Depths, you spend an unpredictable stretch of time collecting Souls and stacking buffs as you go deeper. You’ll drop only your inventory if you fall, sparing your main gear. The final level of the Depths features a locked Treasure Vault.
Another speciality of the Depths is the Antiquarian’s Den. It’s a grim underground hub accessible from every Royal City and Caerleon. It acts as a launchpad to the Depths, Hellgates and Corrupted Dungeons.
Next, the Antiquarian Standing system revolves around the Antiquarian, a shadowy figure running the Den. It brings two new spiderlings called the Hellspinner and the Soulspinner.

The Abyssal Depths also introduces two standout Crystal Weapons to MMORPG Albion Online. They are the Truebolt Hammer and the Stillgaze Staff. The hammer lets you smash enemies with electrifying force while shielding nearby allies. Meanwhile, the staff transforms you into a Crystal Cobra.
Lastly, a new Character Progression category in the Journal has been introduced. It’s connected with the Destiny Board, offering milestones, long-term achievements and rare rewards.
