Niantic’s latest update for Monster Hunter Now introduces a new feature called Exploration Bases. The game’s Season 7 is rolling out the PokéStops-like feature, which is built around Monster Hunter’s community-driven spirit.

Instead of random items, hunters can now work together to upgrade local bases by submitting exploration emblems and reports. The more people chip in, the stronger the base gets, and everyone gets the benefits.

How do Exploration Bases work in Monster Hunter Now?

The bases run on a three-week cycle known as a Wave. Every time one wraps up, you can earn rewards like Item Box Expansion +500 and up to 2,000 base reputation. Leaderboards track the progress, too.

Exploration Bases are less about raw combat power and more about cooperation. Even newer players or those without maxed-out gear can make meaningful contributions. In the devs’ words, Exploration Bases are meant to expand hunter life beyond just chasing down monsters.

The first Wave kicks off on September 18th, 2025, and runs until October 13th, 2025. The outbreak monster this time is the 8-star Riftborne Deviljho. And just days later, on September 22nd, Riftborne Deviljho officially joins the game roster.

The game is also celebrating its 2nd Anniversary!

Monster Hunter Now’s 2nd Anniversary celebrations are running from September 14th until September 28th, 2025. Join the anniversary event and get special 2nd Anniversary Exchange Tokens by hunting monsters, slaying or repelling elder dragons, and completing event quests. Catch a glimpse of the anniversary event below.

You can trade the tokens at the Event Exchange Hub for rewards like an Item Box Expansion, and Wyvern Gem Shard. The event also features exclusive outfits, anniversary gifts, and special campaigns.

Meanwhile, apart from Deviljho, expect to encounter more riftborne creatures, like Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian in Season 7. So, grab the game from the Google Play Store.
