Moon 2999 is a massive co-op and single-player sci-fi RPG now out on Android and PC. It’s made by indie developer Thierry Bouché, who has spent the last five years developing the game. Set at the dawn of the year 2999, it’s a strategy and lunar base management game.
Set in a future where humans have colonised most of the planets in the solar system
In Moon 2999, humans have colonised parts of the solar system, but centuries of political tension have broken them into powerful factions and rival empires. Amidst all that, you take on the role of a Moon base commander.
Your responsibility is to expand and upgrade the colony, recruit allies, and venture deep into space. The universe of Moon 2999 has alien hordes, colossal bosses, and rival factions who threaten to wipe out your progress.
Missions range from skirmishes with the Kragh aliens to bounty hunts, factional clashes, and PvP encounters. Every battle, alliance, and choice alters your base, along with the overall fate of the galaxy.
The gameplay revolves around both construction and combat. You can develop bases with a wide range of facilities, including command centres, production plants, research hubs, and military structures.
You can upgrade each base to boost efficiency and unlock more powerful capabilities. Unit recruitment also offers a significant roster of troops with RPG-driven skills and weapons. Battles unfold either in real-time or turn-based formats.
Moon 2999 is now out
The game draws inspiration from space classics such as Cosmo 1999, Killjoys, and The Expanse. Thierry Bouché began work on the project in 2020, merging decades of experience as a PC and mobile gamer with his fascination for science fiction.
