Sword Art Online: Variant Showdown pre-registration
Based on the beloved anime series, Variant Showdown is the latest game in the SAO series. Set after the series’ Alicization Arc, this new mobile game lets you play through an all-new story in this massive franchise.
You play as a created character delving into the fictional VRMMO game, Cross Edge. Joining Kirito, Asura and more, you’ll have to fight your way through dungeons, huge bosses and more. Are you ready to rumble?
Playable in a third-person perspective, this new SAO game is a frenetic action game. Similar to the rest of the franchise’s surprisingly solid games, this title will be another skill-based RPG. Furthermore, its gameplay is heavily based on the show’s combat.
You’ll team up with the gang from the anime, each member having their own combat styles. Through combat, you’ll level up and acquire new skills for not just you, but your party members as well. You’re all in this together!
There’s still no release date for the game other than later this year. However, since pre-registration is now active, we expect the game to properly launch in the coming weeks. If you can’t wait, maybe watch a trailer or something!

Pre-registration rewards?
As far as we know, there will be preregistration rewards for Sword Art Online: Variant Showdown. However, developer Bandai Namco has not released any information on what they will be.
Furthermore, as we do not know exactly how the game plays, we can’t even think of what they would be. On the other hand, registering early will likely give you some premium currency as well as other goodies.
