Nimblebit’s upcoming Pocket Trains game to chug its way onto Android on September 26th

NimbleBit has officially announced when their next game called Pocket Trains will be released onto iOS and Android devices. We’ve talked about this game a couple of times in the past already and while we didn’t know 100% whether or not Pocket Trains would actually be released onto Android, since there has been no official word up until now regarding an Android version. we do now know that it will be on Android and we now have an official release date.

For those of you who missed our previous coverage regarding Pocket Trains, this will be the company’s newest game in the ‘Pocket’ universe. This particular game is a little similar to Kairosoft and other sim/management titles in regards to your overall goal – players need to build the best freight company.

Players will begin building up their train empire by sending out passengers and other cargo to different locations. As you successfully complete shipments you will earn cash which you can then use to expand your company, buying more trains, stations and other goodies to pull in more profit.  Of course the visuals are all in the same retro style as previous NimbleBit games as well.

If you happen to be looking forward to this game, Pocket Trains will be released onto Google Play on September 26th, 2013. No word on pricing just yet or if this game will follow in the footsteps of its airborne brother Pocket Planes with being release onto the Mobage social gaming platform.

Update Sept. 17th, 2013 5:41am PST: It appears the game is available for residents of a couple of select countries as a limited soft launch. So far Canada is confirmed as having the game available. Thanks to William L. for the heads up!
