Having already been quite successful in the mobile gaming scene with games such as DragonVale and NinJump, Backflip Studios is now expanding to include third-party releases onto mobile as well. This will be done through a new company / brand called Backflip Publishing.
Plenty of other companies have done this very thing in the past when it comes to the mobile gaming industry. A few companies include Rovio, Gamevil, and Crescent Moon Games, all of which are publishing third-party games. This means we can add Backflip Studios with their new brand Backflip Publishing to this list of third-party game publishers.
The new brand already has two titles that are getting ready for release as well. This first game will be PlunderNauts® from LightBox Interactive while the second game slated for release is called Seabeard™ by HandCircus. PlundernNauts combines space exploration with epic pirate battles, and features a vast universe to plunder with a wide variety of pirate starships to collect and upgrade.

Seabeard, on the other hand, is a large open world type of game with various islands to explore and a unique quest generation system for nearly infinite content. You’ll also get to do exploration and mini-games like sailing and fishing.
PlunderNauts is slated for release this Spring 2014 while Seabeard is coming to mobile in Summer 2014. No word on pricing yet. If you’re a developer interested in checking this new service out, just hit up the link below.
