The latest entry in the Oceanhorn series is Chronos Dungeon. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that it’s a departure from earlier entries in the series. That’s because instead of 3D visuals, the devs’ve opted for a top-down, pixelated art that calls back to 16-bit arcade classics.
What’s the story in Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon?
The grand White City is gone, swallowed by time and tide. What remains is a scattered mess of islands floating in the Uncharted Sea. In the ruins of the once-prosperous kingdom, four adventurers are chasing down legends and forgotten magic.
Their destination is the Chronos Dungeon, an underground maze where history itself might be rewritten. There’s the Paradigm Hourglass, a relic that holds the power to change the past.
But reaching there won’t be easy. The dungeon is a living, shifting labyrinth where every floor is procedurally modified. No two runs are the same, and zodiac signs affect your heroes, too.
Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon has four classes. They are Knight, Huntress, Grandmaster, and Mage. You’re free to switch between them as needed.
The game is a co-op multiplayer that supports up to four players. However, you can also control all four heroes solo, if you want to. And while playing with others, if someone drops out, anyone can pick up the remaining characters.

While the aesthetic is retro, the action is fast and fluid
The game has massive boss battles, randomised items, and gameplay that encourages replay after replay. It’s being published by FDG Entertainment on Android and is now available globally.
