Northern Forge Studios’ Orna: The GPS RPG has earned a major award for its creative approach to environmental storytelling. Orna received the Media Choice Award at the 2025 Green Game Jam. The recognition specifically highlights its Natureblight event, so Orna: The GPS RPG is bringing it back this week!
The award ceremony took place last week at the BFI Southbank in London, UK. It’s organised by Playing for the Planet in partnership with BFI, Ukie, and Video Games Europe. The event recognised developers using their craft to make a measurable environmental impact while engaging players in meaningful ways.
Remember Natureblight in Orna: The GPS RPG?
Natureblight originally launched in May 2025 under the Green Game Jam initiative. It’s an in-game chapter that’s part of Terra’s Legacy. The event blends fantasy role-playing with themes of sustainability and ecological care.
This time, Natureblight will be available in Orna: The GPS RPG from now until November 21st, 2025. It sends you to battle The Great Murk, a spreading corruption that threatens both the game’s mythical realm and the natural environments that inspired it.
You’ll journey through landscapes which are modelled after real-world ecosystems. There are the icy stretches of the Antarctic Peninsula and the dense forests of Uganda. Along the way, you’ll encounter Animal Guardians who protect your domains.
You can earn the creatures as loyal follower pets by completing event quests. Some of them are Beaver from Prince Edward County, Canada, Coral Reef representing Oceania, and Mountain Gorilla from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda.
The lineup also includes Bone Mammoth from Dunkerque, France, Giant Tortoise from the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, and Giant Panda from Chengdu, China. Lastly, there’s the Macaroni Penguin from the Antarctic Peninsula.
If you missed the event the last time, grab Orna: The GPS RPG from the Google Play Store now to play it.
