Pizza Hero has finally made its way to Android, after dropping on iOS more than five months ago. Developed by Astro Hound Studios, it’s a quirky shoot ’em-up roguelite that’s free to play. But wait, what’s that angle with the pizza? Keep reading to find out!
Escape the Hungry Horde
Well, you are the pizza! Yes, you play as a heroic slice of pizza in the game. Pizza Hero is about a dog finding a space pizza and fighting off monsters. He teams up with a pup-buddy named Max, who needs help saving his friends. You’ll encounter a bunch of enemies trying to mess with your flavour.
You can whip up different recipes to boost your firepower and create the perfect slice. You can customize your pizza with over 20 damage toppings and 8 passive toppings. For example, use basil to speed up weapon attacks by reducing cooling down time. Or, use black olives to generate twirling shields while dealing boundary damage.
You get 5 recipe evolutions and more than 50 achievements spread across five randomly generated worlds. Oh, and you can also save pets along the way. There are over 20 of them, including Max, the pup, Bandit, the racoon, Larry, the kitten, Leonardo, the turtle, Cuddles, the rooster, Onxy, the rabbit and more!
Pizza Hero is a roguelite, so random power-ups and levels pop up to keep you on your toes. There are a total of 16 stats to level up. If it sounds fun, grab the game from the Google Play Store. Also, take a look at the trailer below!

Pizza Hero has great music that gives you an old-school 90s gaming vibe. It almost takes you back to the days of classics like the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game.
