PopCap has soft launched Plants Vs Zombies 3 on Android – but only in the Philippines.
The latest in the long-running saga about plants that are defending a home from zombies broadly follows the gameplay blueprint of its predecessors, but with a few significant tweaks.
Ain’t No Sunshine
For one, it’s played in portrait rather than landscape mode. For another, the graphics are 3D rather than 2D.
Also, PopCap has done away with the sunlight mechanic, which required players to plant sunflowers in order to attract globules of sunlight that they had to manually collect. Now sunlight is accumulated automatically, like in nature.
The Plants Vs. Zombies soft launch will be arriving in more territories over the coming weeks.
