Playpark’s side-scrolling shooter Super Slug is entering an open beta testing phase

Released by Playpark, Super Slug is a Metal Slug Clone that’s coming soon to Android. In the very near future, the game is slated to have both an open beta phase as well as a closed one, so players will have the opportunity to check out the game’s side-scrolling action.

Players will not only be in control of their character, of which there are four to choose from, but will also have ability to commandeer tanks. Level design is very much like the Metal Slug series, both in graphical appearance as well as the layout, even down to the oversized bullets, missiles, and bosses. The game will utilize virtual controls, but there’s no mention of hardware support at this point.

The open beta is set to begin on August 10th (GMT +8), and the closed beta subsequently on the 16th, at the same time of day. Players must visit this page in order to register their email address, and the one linked to Google Play is what they’re looking for. Once that’s completed, players can then proceed to Playpark’s site to sideload the APK. Players interested in seeing some of the game in action can check out the trailer below, though bear in mind that not all of it is in English.
