Pokémon Go has just released the details of the upcoming Community Day in February. It’s bringing two Pokémon into the spotlight. The event kicks off on February 9th, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Who Are the New Pokémon in the Pokémon Go February Community Day?

Karrablast and Shelmet are the two event-special mon. They’ll be out and about in the wild more often, so get ready to do some serious catching. Also, you might even stumble upon their elusive Shiny versions.

The real treat, though, comes when you evolve them. If you evolve Karrablast anytime during the event (or until February 16th at 10:00 p.m. local time), you’ll get an Escavalier that knows the Charged Attack Razor Shell.

This move hits for 35 power in Trainer Battles and 55 power in Gyms and Raids. Meanwhile, evolving Shelmet in that same window will give you an Accelgor with the Charged Attack Energy Ball. It packs a solid 90 power whether you’re battling other Trainers or taking on Gyms and Raids.

The Special Research will get you encounters with Karrablast and Shelmet sporting special Dual Destiny-themed backgrounds, a Premium Battle Pass and a Rare Candy XL.

There’s also a Timed Research event that lasts an entire week after the main event. Log in during Community Day and you’ll unlock tasks that give you encounters with Karrablast and Shelmet with the special backgrounds.

Don’t Forget the Bonuses

The February Community Day in Pokémon Go is full of juicy bonuses. You’ll get 3× XP for catching Pokémon, double the usual Candy, and a 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to get Candy XL from catches.

Lure Modules and Incense (except Daily Adventure Incense) will last for three hours and there’s a little surprise waiting if you snap a few photos. So, go ahead and get Pokémon GO from the Google Play Store.
