A new indie title called Ponchorado is out now, involving both the Wild West and the film industry. Developed and published by Seal Games, the project leans into satire while blending survival-action gameplay with roguelite elements. And the best part is that it’s all presented through a 1930s cartoon style.
The action happens inside the crumbling set of an unfinished western
The story follows Poncho, a stuntman who never received on-screen credit. He now finds himself stranded in the ruins of a never-finished western movie. Rather than riding off into the sunset, he decides to confront a chaotic world.
That world is stitched together from half-realised scenes, exaggerated caricatures, and genre clichés. The game repeatedly underscores that setting. Events unfold inside a fragmented film production where the cameras stopped rolling long ago.
You guide Poncho through the broken cinematic landscape, fighting through everything in an effort to finally be noticed. It’s his struggle that’s more than a simple quest for applause.
And don’t forget the BOSSCAR. Yep, the in-game Oscar! It’s the highest honour that the fictional Academy of Cinematic Constructs awards. Earning it would represent visibility, recognition, and the right to tell one’s own story.
As part of the quests, you need to defeat all ten Gatekeeper Bosses to nominate Poncho for the BOSSCAR. You have to clear every level and overcome all 10 bosses, transforming Poncho from a forgotten extra into a true leading role.

Ponchorado isn’t a typical run ’n gun Survivor-like
The world in Ponchorado is full of bandana-wearing bandits, out-of-place pinatas, bizarre gatekeepers, lost scenes, and unleashed characters. Everyone is actually fighting for their place in a movie that was never finished. Check out the game from the Google Play Store.
