HyperBeard is a mobile game publisher whose games always manage to captivate me. They’re cute, charming and offer a truly calming experience. After dropping hits like Tsuki’s Odyssey, KleptoCats, Clawbert, Fairy Village, Hamster Inn, and Pocket Love, their latest addition to Android is Pond Pals.
Pond Pals introduces you to Aaron. He’s a small frog with an outsized ambition to transform his quiet pond into the world’s most beautiful glamping site. The challenge is not a lack of space or resources, but Aaron’s difficulty dealing with other beings.
Pond Pals puts you in charge of shaping the environment and managing interactions
The main tasks revolve around building and customising a glamping site set entirely on a pond. You attract frogs and other visitors, with unique personalities and clear preferences. Some visitors gravitate toward fishing spots, others prefer sunbathing, while a few spend their time enjoying mushroom juice.
Visitors deliberately move to areas that match their interests, resting near tents or shaded areas, and sitting to chat around decorations. Their actions respond to where attractions are placed, the order in which upgrades are made, and how the site is arranged.
Progression involves upgrading tents, cooking meals, hosting activities, and unlocking new visitors as the pond grows. Cooking functions as more than a minor side activity. Meals directly affect visitor happiness and let you unlock new visitor types and quests. New tents and furniture sets also unlock gradually.
Pond Pals is all about focusing on atmosphere and layout rather than efficiency alone. In the launch update, the devs have introduced a new unwanted visitor, the Angry Raccoon. You also gain access to two new decorative themes for customising the hotel.
The game is available on the Google Play Store now.
