Those Eyes, the Copenhagen studio known for Cosmic Top Secret, has dropped a new game on mobile. Real Vampires is a new narrative-driven adventure based on true vampire folklore. It turns historical accounts of vampirism into an eerie, interactive journey through belief, death, and transformation.
On mobile, Those Eyes’ previous releases include Mouse & Crane. For Real Vampires, they’ve collaborated with cultural scholars and were inspired by Dr. Łukasz Kozak’s anthology With Stake and Spade: Vampiric Diversity in Poland.
Dig deep into the origins of the vampire myth
Rather it’s the unsettling, centuries-old tales buried in real Slavic folklore. The game lets you play from both perspectives: the terrified folk and the vampires themselves.
You explore the narrative through intertwining stories that explore who the real monsters might be. Every level uses what Those Eyes calls inverse mechanics. Each time you mess up, you learn something new, peeling back layers of horror, humour, and history.
Adding to the authenticity, historian Dr. Kozak and his talking dog, Oki, appear in-game. They guide you through the myths and rituals that inspired the stories. These include 16th-century plague burials, local superstitions about corpses that wouldn’t stay dead, and disturbing cooking traditions.

You’ll dig graves, slice bodies, chew questionable meals, and even bake and bleed your way through bizarre mini-games. The surreal tasks are wrapped in a 2.5D art style that draws from Slavic artwork and Monty Python-like absurdism.
The cut-out animation and twisted humour give the game a tone that’s both grotesque and playful. Take a look at the game here.
Despite the heavy themes, Real Vampires never loses its sense of humour or its curiosity about why humans have always been fascinated by the undead. You can check it out on the Google Play Store; the full game costs $4.99.
