The countdown has begun! Reverse: 1999 is rolling out its newest update ‘The Prisoner in the Cave’ on February 29th. We first shared the news with you a couple of weeks back when it dropped. Now, with the day almost here, we thought we’d walk you through the full details of the Reverse: 1999 Version 1.4 update.

Who’s The Prisoner in the Cave?

Well, you have to play to know! But I can tell you this, with version 1.4 update, the story is getting a major boost. After you finish Chapter 4, you’ll join Timekeeper Vertin on an island that hasn’t been hit by the ‘Storm.’ You’ll also meet his crew Sonetto, Regulus and Liliya. When you’re done with that part, there’s a bonus chapter waiting for you called ‘The Star.’

There are a bunch of new characters, too. Joining the mysterious journey will be 37, a 6-star Star-Type arcanist and a math genius who was a prodigy as a child. She sees the world as a bunch of numbers. You can get her in the ‘Beyond the World of Matters’ banner, which is the first part of the update.

During the second part of the Reverse: 1999 Version 1.4 update, you can snag 6 in the ‘Seeker in the Cave’ banner. He’s a 6-star Intelligence-type arcanist who’s all about balance and takes it to heart like Pythagoras did. Both 37 and 6 will also get their own story events to play.

Reverse: 1999 Version 1.4 Update Has New Modes!

Not just one or two, you’ll get three new modes. ‘The Three Doors’ is going to be the game’s first crack at a 3D puzzle, making you think in cubes and stuff to beat it. ‘Mane’s Bulletin’ lets you take down bosses one after another to grab some nice goodies. ‘Anecdote’ will take you into the backstories of Charlie and Oliver Fog.

A lot of events will also go down where you can score freebies. ‘Treasure in the Suitcase’ and ‘Treasure on the Beach’ are the two sign-in events where you can get your hands on up to 20 Unilogs. ‘Carnival Invitation’ lets you pick a free 5-Star character from the normal summoning options. Also, look out for ‘Roaming in Geometry’ where you can score a limited-time portrait.

A New Music Label

For the music lovers out there, Reverse: 1999 Version 1.4 update is having the game start up its own music label ‘The 1999 Records.’ They’re kicking off with an OST called Journey in the Rain. They’re going to drop character EPs on Apple Music, Spotify and Pandora, too.

I guess I can go on and on about the Reverse: 1999 Version 1.4 update since there’s a lot to cover. Other events in the update include ‘Abundance of the Water – The First Milestone’ where you can snag up to seven free single summons each day for 6-star characters like An-an Lee, A Knight, Melania and Voyager.

They’re rolling out new outfits and skill effects, so be sure to check them out. You can also earn ‘Badges of Wonder’ just by playing to deck out your profile. So, go ahead and grab the game from the Google Play Store if you haven’t already.
