Game development studio Thoughtbot has been working on a neat and unique space shooter called Rototo: Space Survival for awhile now. This game, currently in its beta testing phase, should appeal to fans of games like Galaga, Asteroids, Space Invader, Breakout, and Missile Command.
Rototo: Space Survival has players controlling their little spaceship which has a reflective front on it. You will have to use this reflective barrier to bounce enemy fire back at the enemy ship that shot it at you in the first place. Sounds simple enough at first until you have five of them shooting at you as well as meteor-style shapes coming at you as well.
Visually, Rototo has a sort of minimalistic feel to it, which suits the game well considering you’re going to have to concentrate on bouncing shots back at your enemies and will need to know the difference between them by how they look. So far, having played Rototo in its beta form for a bit this morning, it is a pretty addictive little time killer. However, what makes the final release remains to be seen since games can completely change between a beta testing phase and its actual release.
As for when Rototo: Space Survival will be released, right now there is no definitive release date, only that it will be coming soon. Right now the developers are working on tweaking the game’s difficulty before it lands on Google Play.
