Set a Watch: Digital Edition is now out on Android. First revealed back in March, it takes the hit board game and reimagines it for mobile. Acram Digital is behind the adaptation, keeping the cooperative nature of the board game intact.
Acram Digital is known for adapting other hit board games to mobile. Their roster of digital editions includes Stone Age, Concordia and Charterstone. Some of their other games include Eight-Minute Empire, Tokaido and Steam: Rails to Riches.
In case you haven’t come across Set a Watch, let me tell you a bit about it. It’s a cooperative fantasy adventure board game with dice management and roguelite features. It was released in August 2019 by designers Mike Gnade and Todd Walsh, and published by Rock Manor Games.
What’s the premise of Set a Watch: Digital Edition?
The game has the same cooperative survival formula, where one wrong move could doom your entire run. You and your party of adventurers work together to defeat monsters before the Unhallowed resurrect.
You need to clear nine locations before the acolytes succeed in breaking the seals that hold back the evil Unhallowed. Fail, and darkness consumes everything. Each night, it’s a journey to prevent an ancient evil from returning.
It’s a dice-management game, so every single turn starts with a roll. You can spend the dice to attack monsters directly, fuel abilities, or prepare for what’s coming next.
It forces you to juggle options constantly. Light the campfire now to hold off the shadows, scout ahead to learn the threats waiting, heal your squad, or keep the dice stored for the battle that matters most. Mismanaging even one roll could leave your party overrun.
