Sprint has provided a few more details regarding the LG Viper, one of the carrier’s latest 4G LTE smartphones. The LG Viper doesn’t have a solid release date, but pre-orders will begin on April 12. The LG Viper will cost $99 after signing a two-year contract and receiving a $50 mail-in rebate in the form of an American Express Prepaid Reward Card.
$99 is not that much money considering the LG Viper is a 4G LTE device. By comparison, some of Verizon’s LTE smartphones were priced at $300 when they first arrived. The LG Viper also has the advantage of being tied to an unlimited data plan. That means you won’t have to worry about downloading all those extra assets from some Android games when you’re away from a Wi-Fi connection.
The LG Viper doesn’t sound like a spectacular device when you look at the specs, but it should be more than capable of handling some of the more intensive apps out there today.

I know shipping the LG Viper with Gingerbread will be a turn off for some. It’ll supposedly be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich, but we don’t know when that will happen.
