Lost in space with no way home? It’s your mission in Starship Traveller to find your way back home. Originally written by Steve Jackson and published in 1984, it was the first-ever sci-fi adventure in the legendary Fighting Fantasy series.
Starship Traveller is the latest addition to the Fighting Fantasy Classics and has just landed on Android. Fighting Fantasy Classics is a digital library app by Tin Man Games which features the Fighting Fantasy gamebooks from the original editions of the 1980s to contemporary releases.
Choose Your Own Adventure or Just Choose This Retro Sci-Fi
You are the captain of the Starship Traveller, and things go sideways when you get sucked into the Seltsian Void. Stuck in some completely uncharted galaxy, you have absolutely no idea how to get back to Earth.
So, your only option is to explore unknown planets, make some questionable diplomatic choices with alien civilizations. Every choice you make matters, so try not to get your entire crew vapourized in deep-space battles
Tin Man Games have upgraded the experience using their Gamebook Adventures Engine, making it more interactive. There’s a full crew management system which lets you form a team of up to seven crew members.
The new illustrations by Simon Lissaman give everything a fresh look. You can tweak the difficulty settings and even turn on ‘Free Read’ mode to just enjoy the story. So, check out this new release by getting Fighting Fantasy Classics from the Google Play Store.
More Coming Up Right After Starship Traveller
In about six weeks, Fighting Fantasy Classics is rolling out another classic, Eye of the Dragon. Written by Ian Livingston, it lets players dive into a deadly labyrinth. You fight monsters, dodge traps and hunt down a precious gem known as the Eye of the Dragon.
That’s it on this new gamebook. Meanwhile, read our next scoop on Delicious: The First Course, the Latest Game in the Delicious Series Where We See Emily’s Life Before.
