Crunchyroll just added a nice game that will interest gamers who love puzzles and anime. It has serene vibes, stunning visuals and a bit of mystery and is now part of the Crunchyroll Game Vault on Android. The game I’m talking about is called Tengami and it’s more like a pop-up book.
When a Visual Novel Meets Origami
Tengami is unique and the devs are correct when they say that it’s a first because of its pop-up book-style gameplay. The world unfolds like origami as you explore ancient Japanese fairy tales. You’ll fold, slide and manipulate the environment to uncover secrets and solve puzzles.
The adventure in Tengami takes you through dark forests, serene waterfalls and abandoned shrines. All of these complement the game’s mysterious cherry tree which is at the heart of it. The tree is dying, and your journey is about finding out why.
Tengami will make you feel like you are stepping into a Japanese folktale brought to life with mesmerizing visuals. The game’s music is as captivating as its visuals. David Wise (Diddy Kong Racing-fame) has composed the score.

Will You Get Tengami?
An atmospheric adventure, the entire game world was designed to mimic real-life pop-up books. You can actually recreat everything you see in Tengami with paper, scissors and glue. That attention to detail makes the game so much more authentic.
The game was developed by Nyamyam and was first released in 2014. You can now grab it from the Google Play Store via Crunchyroll. It’s free for those with Crunchyroll Mega Fan or Ultimate Fan memberships.
