Released by Dabhan Maswood, Digit Drop is a new math-based game for Android. In Digit Drop, players are given the simple task is adding up numbers to equal the one given at the start of the puzzle.
The board is arranged in such a way that the goal is shown in black, near the top, and the board comprised of other, lower numbers are varied in color and arrayed in the lower portion of the screen. Players will then drag their finger in a connect-the-dots fashion, through the various digits, until they’ve achieve the sum total of the black number at the top. Once that’s been achieved, the numbers used are replaced with new ones, as well as a new target number.
Players will score higher if they can successfully match the target sum using a greater number of digits. So, players can use two 5s, or a combination of 1, 2, 3, and 4 to match up to a ten, with the latter string of digits being worth more points.
There are three different modes of play available. First, there’s a timed mode where players are allotted 45 seconds to see how many times players an match the target number. Every time this is done, seconds are added to the clock, and play continues until time runs out. There’s also a daily challenge, where everyone gets the same board, and two attempts at it to see who can get the highest score. Lastly, there’s an infinite mode where time isn’t a factor in the game. As players complete these digits, the number of completions is stored in a vault, which players can then use to purchase a handful of power ups: +10 seconds, a board shuffle to rearrange the numbers, or what’s called Double Digits that double what gets added to the vault.
Digit Drop is available for free from Google Play. The game does serve interstitial ads, which can be removed with a single IAP of $2.99; this also unlocks the Infinite Mode as well.
