The Atari 2600 classic Pitfall! gets re-imagined as an endless running game

Activision has brought back a game that many people loved to play back in the day on their Atari 2600 console systems and that game is Pitfall!. However, this new release of Pitfall! is actually a re-imagined version and instead of swinging over gaps in the ground, finding treasure and inevitably dieing a lot, this version is a 3D endless runner.

However, there is a lot to this little game aside from just running and dodging hazards. In this 30th Anniversary celebration of the franchise, you will control Harry who will be racing through jungles, caves and native villages while collecting treasure along the way. You will have to dust off those endless runner skills as well since you’ll have to dodge hazards such as volcanic flames, tumbling ancient artifacts, and narrow cliff side pathways by sliding or jumping over them.

Pitfall! Features:

• The “Free Runner” evolved! Navigate through constantly changing environments as you make your way through narrow trenches, dark caverns, and cascading waterfalls with cinematic camera angles.
• Level up and trade in your loot for a trove of game changing powerups that can be used to enhance your experience and customize your wardrobe
• Top your friends’ scores on Twitter and Facebook and stake your claim as the real king of the jungle!
• Easy swipe and tilt controls allow you to jump right in!

Classic Pitfall! enemies are also in this new game and you will be using your whip to take them out, just like you used to do in the original game. For those of you who missed all the swinging action of the original game, you will be happy to know that you will be doing plenty of that as well in this game.

Pitfall! fans looking to play a new Pitfall! game can now head over to the Google Play store and download this new game for free.
