A new retro-style arcade shooter has landed on Google Play called Vritra. Developed by Salvo Inc., this particular arcade shooter is almost a bullet hell type of shooter. We say almost because while there is a lot of bullets to dodge and shoot, there isn’t the amount you would find in a true bullet hell game but there is more than what you find in your average arcade shooter.
Day: 21 December 2012
Something that has become fairly common this year is to see a new controller launching or starting its Kickstarter drive every now and again. I’ve used a PS2 controller (yeah I know, freaking dated) to test out a few games in the past. Like recently, Zombie Driver THD was totally unplayable without the controller (they have rectified this though with a new update). So in that case, the controller made a whole lot of difference. In other games, especially competitive multiplayer ones like Shadowgun: DeadZone, having a physical controller puts you at an (unfair) advantage against the rest of the players.
SNK Playmore already released Metal Slug 3 onto Android not too long ago and now they have decided to release the first game in the series as well. Metal Slug is now available on Google Play and even though it is a port, the controls have been designed for mobile gaming and can have their location customized to suit your needs.
Last week the developers behind the MOGA mobile gaming system, PowerA, happen to be basically giving away MOGA units for one day where all buyers had to pay was the shipping. Those units should hopefully be already arriving to people who managed to et in on the deal and now PowerA has released a list of some of the newly released games that happen to support the MOGA controller.
After receiving its first update after months of nothing, Angry Birds Rio apparently still isn’t ending as clues to a new update have come to light. This update looks to be a whole new episode which, as of right now, is called Fruit Market. Of course the episode name is subject to change at any time but for right now it is showing as Fruit Market.
Gameloft has two games on sale right now for a limited time. Whether it is a holiday sale or not, both games are currently priced at $0.99 which is a pretty good deal considering both are usually priced at $6.99. So what two games are on sale? Well the first one is Gameloft’s MMORPG Order & Chaos Online which recent got updated with a plethora of new content such as a new dungeon, mounts and PvP arenas and also had its monthly subscription fee removed.
Another game we mentioned previously that Sega would be releasing on Android at some point has now finally arrive. Sonic Jump is a jumping platformer where you control Sonic who needs to get through a bunch of stages in order to complete his quest to defeat Dr. Eggman. Instead of the levels being side-scroll like normal Sonic the Hedgehog games are, this one is a vertical platformer instead.
Activision has brought back a game that many people loved to play back in the day on their Atari 2600 console systems and that game is Pitfall!. However, this new release of Pitfall! is actually a re-imagined version and instead of swinging over gaps in the ground, finding treasure and inevitably dieing a lot, this version is a 3D endless runner.
Well two of Rockstar Games’ signature titles have also gone on sale for a limited time this holiday season. If you don’t already have enough games on sale to spend your money on, now you can snag a copy of Grand Theft Auto III or Max Payne for a mere $0.99. That is a savings of four bucks off of the regular price for either of those games.
Want more deals this holiday season? Well you’re in luck then as DotEmu has put up their three self-published titles on Google Play on sale. This sale starts today, actually right now, and goes on until December 27th, 2012 so you do have about a week to pick up either R-Type, Another World or the Raiden Legacy game pack at a discounted price. Of course if you don’t have any of them then you can pick up all three.
