The iControlPad 2 jumps on Kickstarter to get funding with a much better design

You may or may not remember the original iControlPad game controller which, originally, was designed for iOS devices before branching out and becoming available to Android devices as well. While the idea was great, there was a bit of an issue in terms of design since it used clasps to help attach itself to whatever phone you are using. Considering the huge range of device sizes Android has, you can see how this could be a problem. Well the iControlPad 2 looks to fix this by being completely bluetooth enabled minus the clasps.

The iControlPad 2 is actually a full set of gaming controls that fits in your pocket, including a keyboard. Aside from a full keyboard, there is a D-Pad, shoulder buttons, two analog sticks and your standard game buttons. This will work as a standard HID (keyboard, joystick, iCade etc) for anything with either bluetooth or USB connections. While there are no side clasps this time around, there is a phone holder that is much better suited for this sort of this. It can also flip behind your phone for when you get a call, that way it isn’t in the way while you’re talking.

One good thing about this Kickstarter campaign is that the developers, the same people behind the original iControlPad, already have a working prototype finished and that this new iteration of the game controller is ready for mass production. With 25 days to go, the campaign has already raised a little over $44K on its way to their $150K goal. You can check out the pitch video below.
