The Twitch app gets updated with Push Notifications for Broadcasters. The TwitchCon App is also now available.

Twitch’s first ever convention is drawing closer and closer each day and with that there is a lot of news coming out with what will be taking place during the event. Needless to say, there will be a lot going on. Luckily, if you are attending TwitchCon 2015, Twitch has an app to help you out. On top of that, the company has released an update for their Twitch app which bring a much requested feature to it: Push Notifications for Broadcasters.

The update for the Twitch application is now out and available for download. The new Push Notifications feature for Broadcasters is exactly as it sounds. When you follow a broadcaster on Twitch, you will now get a notification when they go live. If you currently have the app installed and are downloading the update, all you have to do is turn on notifications from within your Android device’s settings and you’re good to go. New users to the app don’t have to do anything at all. If you decide down the road you don’t want notifications, just go into the apps settings and toggle them off.

There are other improvements with this update as well, albeit the Push Notifications are the biggest. For tablet users, the chat is now available in landscape mode. The search bar is now visible across all devices as well.

TwitchCon 2015 is almost upon us and if you are going, there is a LOT to do there. Twitch has released an application that will help you plan your days during the show. You will be able to build a personalized schedule, receive alerts for any schedule or location changes and special surprise events, a full list of events and speakers, and so on.
