WildTangent’s game rental service rolling out for T-Mobile Android users

Back during the Summer we reported on online game rental service, WildTangent, and that it would be teaming up with T-Mobile in order to provide Android users on T-Mobile the ability to rent games for cheap. The service has now started rolling out and is now available for users to try out.

When it comes to their online storefront, WildTangent would let you rent a game to play through the use of their currency called WildCoins. However, if you liked the game enough you could actually buy it completely from them as well. They do feature a lot of major titles for the PC side of things and now it will be doing the same for mobile as well. Currently there are over 40 games available ranging across all gaming genres with titles like Burn the Rope, Doodle Jump and Call of Duty.

The process is the same for mobile just as it is on the PC with rentals of mobile games costing $0.25 (through the use of WildCoins) and you will be able to play whatever game you are renting for 24 hours before having to rent it again. For those of you not on T-Mobile, you won’t be able to access any of this, at least for now since it’s exclusive to T-Mobile and in fact the app isn’t even on the Android Market. To get the app you will need to go to the T-Mobile Mall and download it from there or text GetWild to 6255 in order to get it.

Any of you T-Mobile users planning on trying this out? I will be giving it a test run myself and do a review for those of you on the fence about this service.
