World of Warships: Blitz has released its 8.2 update, bringing some high-speed ships to the seas. The update’s biggest highlight is Turbo Strike, a new mode. Apart from that, there are tons of other additions. So, keep reading to get the full scoop.
What’s Turbo Strike?
In the new mode, you jump into battles where respawns are finally on the menu. It lets captains charge back in after sinking. The first to 1,000 points or a full base capture still takes the victory. But in Turbo Strike, there’s only one dedicated map and a steady stream of buffs.
The randomised airdrop buffs appear at set intervals and can be stacked up to four times. Once you rack up three kills, you get access to a steerable missile that can be guided slightly before impact. Also, each ship type gets specific attribute buffs unique to Turbo Strike.
World of Warships: Blitz Update 8.2 also debuts the Variable Torpedoes. It’s a new mechanic designed to reward players who are willing to close the distance. Within 0 to 6 km, the torpedoes hit at full power, but after that, their damage drops steadily to 60% at 12 km.
World of Warships: Blitz Update 8.2 Brings the French!
French destroyers finally join the game with this update. The line starts with L’Adroit at Tier V, which combines strong guns and torpedoes with great mobility.
Moving up, Le Hardi at Tier VII and Orage at Tier IX continue the theme with stealth, acceleration, and powerful close-range strikes.
These ships introduce the Variable Torpedoes from Tier VII onward. They also come with the Emergency Engine Accelerator, a special boost that increases acceleration, deceleration, and top speed by 25% for 10 seconds.
