We got word in advance that something was going on but it seems today there is good and bad news coming from Faeria Studios. The bad news is that their MMORPG project called Rūnes is going to be put on the back-burner but might still launch this year. The good news is they have a new game in the works for iOS and the almighty Android OS called The Ascent!
Have you always wanted to cause as much destruction and chaos as possible? Defeat armies and blow up vehicles? Probably. Have you dreamed about doing it as a giant worm? Probably. Well you might not be able to do it in real life but you can certainly do it on your Android phone thanks to PlayCreek releasing Death Worm.
One game we have been eagerly waiting for from War Drum Studios has been their upcoming RTS (Real-time strategy) game called History: Great Battles Medieval. We knew it was coming this month and now the wait is officially over. It is now available on the Android Market so you can get your RTS fix.
Back in February we got wind of a new game that Polarbit and Pinyl were working on called Chess: Battle of the Elements which takes the original game of Chess, mixes it with the four elements and tosses in a dash of multiplayer for good measure. Since then it has been pretty quite but now the wait is over and it is now available on the Android Market.
So with Pocket Legends turning 1 year old this month and the huge celebration going on which includes free access to content that is usually paid, exclusive items and a whole lot more, the crew at Spacetime Studios have released a video to help spread the word and celebrate the 1 year birthday in case detailed patch notes aren’t your thing to read.
My First Trainz Set is developed by n3v Games who also develop the highly realistic and detailed train simulation game that is also coming to Android called Trainz. My First Trainz Set is a more toned down version of a train simulation game for the most casual enthusiast or someone who want to keep their kids busy for a few hours.
Roboto is an action-packed side scrolling platformer from the crew over at Fenix Fire that will be making it’s way onto Android very soon. Build with Unity3D, Fenix Fire has a graphical look similar to Samurai II: Vengeance for Android Tegra 2 devices with the whole cartoon-ish look to it but in 3D and it pulls it off just as good too.
Gameloft seem to be sticking to their current trend in terms of mobile gaming. A lot of recent releases are very similar to well known console games. Gangstar seems to resemble the infamous GTA series, while Dungeon Hunters feels not too dissimilar to Diablo. Same is true for Eternal legacy,with gameplay and style resembling the hugely popular Final Fantasy games.
There has been a lot of hype around Gameloft’s temporarily exclusive Xperia Play game called Backstab lately. Well for all of you lucky Xperia Play owners, the wait is no more. As mentioned last week, the game was set to be released today and indeed it was. You can now purchase Backstab for your Xperia Play.
A lot of people dislike the fact that Gameloft still refuses to sell their games on the Android Market, regardless of the reasons. However, as they release more titles onto Android, it could be getting harder for people to resist going to their store and nabbing one. Eternal Legacy was just launched which is Gameloft’s Final Fantasy-type game.
