You may remember about a month and a half ago we reported on a neat feature that would be coming to the LG Optimus 3D which would allow you to convert 2D games into 3D games if they were made using OpenGL graphics. LG has released more information about this ahead of IFA.

IndieCade has announced that it has teamed up with LG for a new event at the conference for indie developers interested in developing games that are glasses-free 3D enabled for the LG Thrill 4G. This would also apply to other devices that handle glasses-free 3D as well.
Interesting little bit of information we stumbled upon while surfing the web for more great Android gaming news. This will make the LG Optimus 3D phone a lot more enticing for those gamers out there wanting to play games in 3D. Soon, the Optimus 3D will be able to convert 2D games into 3D ones. Thanks to Android 2.3 in October.
Gameloft sure didn’t waste any time when it comes to the 3D gaming on Android phones with their announcement today that, at launch time for the LG Optimus 3D, they will have 17 3D-enabled games ready for gamers to dig into. That’s a pretty solid start for not only the Optimus 3D but a couple of other 3D phones that are gearing up for release.
T-Mobile hosting the Battle for E3 contest. Win a new LG G2X, trip to E3 and $2500 spending money!
T-Mobile is pushing the whole mobile gaming thing, especially now that they have the LG G2X and G-Slate under their belts. Both of these devices come with nVidia’s Tegra 2 dual-core chip which makes for some great gaming. Now you have a chance to win an LG G2X as well as a trip to E3 and $2500 in spending money. But wait there’s more!
Yet another major announcement in the opening keynote session came out and one that everyone should be happy about. Google has partnered with 10 OEMs and carriers to guarantee timely Android updates to devices. This is in order to combat OS fragmentation which has been happening a lot. One device gets their update while others wait for months.
It’s all over the place right now on Twitter, other news sites and Android sites. T-Mobile, thanks to LG, have dropped a double-header of dual-core deliciousness for Android gamers to choose from if you are on T-Mobile (or thinking about switching to them). The G2X and G-Slate have officially launched today.
All you Gameloft fans out there who are planning on nabbing an LG Optimus 3D Android phone have some good news coming your way. Gameloft has already started working on making 3D version of some of their games already for you to play on the Optimus 3D (and possibly future 3D Android devices as well).
LG has been gearing up lately with promo videos and commercial for all their new products including the pretty awesome LG Optimus 3D phone. However, unlike the seriously epic win promo video of the LG G-Slate, the Optimus 3D commercial is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. It’s terrible.
Honestly, we like the way things are going when it comes to promo videos these days, especially when it comes to tablets or unique Android devices like the Xperia Play which just recently featured it’s rather twisted sweatshop-style surgery commercial showing the poor Android robot getting some thumbs.
