The Leisure Suit Larry franchise is one that just won’t stay down. Larry’s first game called Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards is probably older than some of you that are reading this. It’s that kind of nostalgia that is fueling a Kickstarter campaign to remake the original game for multiple platforms.
Replay Games along with Al Lowe (the creator of Leisure Suit Larry) are asking for $500,000 to fund a HD remake of the first Leisure Suit Larry game that will be called Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards Reloaded. The game will stay true to its original trappings, but will include modern humor, fully voiced characters and a contemporary control scheme.
Should Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards Reloaded obtain more than its $500,000 goal, Replay Games will port its creation to Android as well as other platforms. A little under $40,000 has been raised so far with 29 days to go. As with any Kickstarter campaign, gifts such as a soundtrack, art book, casino chips and even a Leisure Suit Larry condom will be given to those who donate.
