Carbon Games to release a mobile version of their Action-RTS game called AirMech onto Android

Carbon Games is gearing up to release their free-to-play cross-platform multiplayer Action-RTS game onto mobile soon called AirMech. Slated for a mobile release sometime after Summer of this year, AirMech is currently sitting in Alpha status for the PC/browser version which is actually slated for release in a beta form this Summer as well.

The Alpha is actually already available for play on Chrome and has more than 60,000 players already while the PC version, also available to play in the Alpha form, has around 5,000 people playing it. The game itself is a sort of blend between Starcraft and League of Legends but with mechs that you play as. These mechs can also transform which you will see in the video at the bottom from PAX East 2012.

When the mobile version of the game is released, it will be cross-platform compatible and the controls will be touchscreen but not with virtual joysticks or anything like that. It should be interesting to see how Carbon Games pulls this off with bringing it to mobile. Additional details about AirMech for mobile will be arriving around Summer this year so we will be sure to keep an eye out for them. You can sign-up to play either the PC version or the Chrome version over at the Carbon Games website.
