Classic adventure game Broken Sword: Director’s Cut lands on Android finally

Keeping with the going trend of rather big releases and Android gaming news in general, we talked about an adventure game back in August of 2011 that was getting remastered and released onto Android. This classic adventure game, called Broken Sword: The Director’s Cut, is now available on the Google Play store.

Developed by Revolution Software, this revamped version of the classic point-and-click adventure game is one of the more notable titles in the series. One of the other really popular ones in the series is the Playstation One title Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars. In The Director’s Cut, you are thrust into the world of murder and mystery as you play as American tourist George Stobbart. You will be guiding George and Nico on and adventure around the world, exploring exotic locations, solving ancient mysteries, and thwarting a dark conspiracy to reveal the secret truths of the Knights Templar.

This game isn’t all serious all the time though. There is some rather enjoyable humor that you get to experience with the new narrative system that Revolution Software has put in place. The visuals are great in this game as well and the user interface is actually really well done. It’s not surprising this game was nominated for a lot of BAFTA awards.

Also, for some reason it seems that the developers put a little extra love into the Android version of this game versus the iOS one. Why do we say that? Because the Android version comes with a digital version of ‘Watchman’ co-creator Dave Gibbons’s collector’s comic. At least from the description on the market is sounds like the iOS version wasn’t fortunate enough to get some of these extra features like the comic.

If you are a fan of the Broken Sword series of games or just happen to like adventure games in general, you might want to check this one out. You can download Broken Sword: The Director’s Cut off of the Google Play store as well as our Google Play synced catalog for $3.99. There are also localized versions of this game in a few other languages in case you want a version in your native language.
