Square Enix does a double release with Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy Dimensions

Square Enix seems to on a roll this week, first with their rather big sale for the holidays that is currently going on right now, then releasing a trailer to tease us about Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V and future games. Now we have a double release from Square Enix with Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy Dimensions both hitting Google Play this morning.

Final Fantasy II

This is the sequel to the original Final Fantasy game that follows the story of four war-orphaned heroes who become apart of the conflict between the hostile Empire of Palamecia and the rebel resistance. While this is a mobile port of the original game it does come with bonus content that was added to the game in a different version of the game that was released later on. That means you’ll have both of the extra dungeons to explore: The Soul of Rebirth and the Arcane Labyrinth.

Since there are many many Final Fantasy fans out there, such as ourselves, we don’t need to get into the gameplay mechanics. One thing to note before going to get this game, if you have USB Debugging enabled on your device, you won’t be able to play this game. This must be some sort of new preventative measure Square Enix is trying out to stop piracy. This could also mean that rooted users might have trouble playing Final Fantasy II.

For those of you wanting to snatch up a copy of this game, you can do so for $7.00 right now.

Final Fantasy Dimensions

Final Fantasy Dimensions is the second Final Fantasy game that Square Enix has released this morning and one that we have talked about a few times in the past already. This particular title is a bit more advanced then the earlier titles in the series with much more detailed pixel art and a combat system that is based around character jobs that can be changed over time and the ability to combo up your skills.

The story follows the usual plot of good versus evil, crystals of power and all that good stuff. Gameplay mechanics for the most part don’t stray too far from the formula that has made Final Fantasy games so popular. If you’re ready to get a double dose of Final Fantasy this weekend then go ahead and pick up Final Fantasy Dimensions off of Google Play. This game, however, will cost you $19.99.
