We won’t mention ‘the list’… you know… that list. Yeah, the one that contained all of the apparently titles Gameloft would be releasing during 2013. We also won’t mention that every title that has come out on Google Play or that has been announced as coming soon since that leak have been games that were on that list. This new game is no exception to that fact either.
Well it seems that the Fast and the Furious 6 game mentioned on that list must be getting somewhat close to release as details have started to trickle out about this new movie tie-in game. Interestingly enough, what we didn’t know was that Kabam would be teaming up with Gameloft and taking the reins on this one. Kabam is responsible for a few MMORTS titles that have recently arrived onto Google Play such as The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-Earth and Arcane Empires.
The Fast and the Furious series is one of the hottest movie and mobile-gaming franchises of all time. Kabam is pedal down, blending the art of game design and the science of free-to-play distribution to make this game a thrill for street racing fans around the world. I can’t imagine a better partner to bring this game to market than Universal. – Kabam Studios president Andrew Sheppard.
Fast and the Furious 6 Superbowl spot
Slightly corny quotes aside, Kabam has developed and published a variety of games on multiple platforms but their strong point usually revolves around RTS games. We’re guessing this won’t be an RTS games though so it will be interesting to see how Fast and the Furious 6 turns out. It will most likely have some sort of multiplayer functionality involved though along with plenty of action in one form or another.
Fast and the Furious 6 is set to hit theaters here in the USA on May 24th, 2013 so we should see this game arrive on Google Play at around that time. No word on pricing as of yet or whether Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be jump punching people in the face in this game as he will be doing in the movie.
