It’s time for another mid-week round-up of all the Android games currently on sale right now. This seems to be an especially good mid-week when it comes to games that are on sale with Rockstar Games leading the pack by discounting Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Max Payne until July 30th, 2013. That, however, isn’t all that is on sale though.
Day: July 24, 2013
We’ve already covered a lot of the details regarding Gameloft’s upcoming addition to their Asphalt franchise called Asphalt 8: Airborne in a previous article when the game was first announced as heading to Android soon. Well during today’s press event that Google held, Gameloft apparently had Asphalt 8: Airborne demonstrated, showing the game optimized for the new Nexus 7 tablets.
Back near the beginning of this month Gamelion released the sequel to their rather popular arcade shooter game Monster Shooter. While Google’s press event had the new Nexus 7 tablets as the headliner for the event, that wasn’t the only news to come out of the press breakfast. Aside from the official announcement of Android 4.3, Google also officially announced that a Google Play Games application would be launching today. This is something that a lot of people were hoping would actually see the light of day.
As pretty much the entire Android community knows, this morning is Google’s breakfast press event where pretty much everyone knew Google was going to officially announce the new Nexus 7 Android tablet along with the new 4.3 version of Android. More news coming out from Nvidia during SIGGRAPH 2013 but this time instead of it being hardware related with showing off their upcoming Kepler GPU along with Project Logan which, when their forces are combined, create Voltron… I mean Tegra 5. This bit of news is in regards to software being shown off running on the Kepler GPU and it isn’t some little game engine or anything like that.
While there are ways to skin your little guy in Minecraft: Pocket Edition, it is a bit on the technical side when it comes to actually implementing them. Once you get the hang of it though you can add skins pretty quickly as well as other UI tweaks. Eventually an application landed on iOS called Minecraft Skin Studio which allows users to create skins for their little guy in Minecraft while on the go.
While the SIGGRAPH conference has gotten underway this week, Nvidia has finally begun showing off some future goodies that up until now we have only heard about. If you follow us on a regular basis then you already have probably read here that Nvidia’s Kepler GPU will be making its way to Android devices soon. You will also probably be aware that the next chipset after Tegra 4 is codenamed Project Logan, or just Logan for those of you wanting to feel a bit more personal with Nvidia’s next chipset already.
Ubisoft’s next release from the Prince of Persia franchise has finally arrived onto Google Play this morning.
