We’ve been covering two Shadowrun games that have been successfully funded through Kickstarter, both with plans to bring their games to Android. One is an online MMORPG style game called Shadowrun Online while the other game had an insanely successful Kickstarter campaign, called Shadowrun Returns.
The latter is the new Shadowrun game that is now out for Android gamers to go grab and sink as much time as they possibly can into it. Developed by Harebrained Schemes, Shadowrun Returns isn’t just a rehashing of the original game that spawned a tablet top RPG and other spin-offs. Instead this is a new addition to the franchise with turn-based tactical gameplay meshed into the cyberpunk RPG world of Shadowrun.

Reading the features list of the game we were actually happy to see that you can kneecap someone with a shotgun, mind you that would be pretty messy. Visually the game has an isometric viewpoint with some pretty solid 3D visuals to enjoy.
While the announced content creation tools haven’t been released yet, which will allow people to create campaigns and other goodies in the game for others to play, we do expect those to arrive soon. In the meantime, we are just happy it hasn’t been delayed again. You can pick up Shadowrun Returns off of Google Play for $9.99 for most tablets and some newer phones.
