Hearthstone Confirmed for Android tablets by end of 2014

Android gamers rejoice! Blizzard Entertainment has opened the portal to Azeroth to allow new warriors to join the fray. In a recent blog post on Battle Net, Blizzard has announced that the popular TCG, Heartstone: Heroes of Warcraft, is coming to Android tablets by the end of 2014. Android phones will be seeing Hearthstone arriving for them sometime in 2015.

According to the blog post by Blizzard employee, Zeriyah, “We’re also close to having Hearthstone out to our iPhone and Android phone users, but it’s become clear that we need a little more time to get that version right. While we have a build up and running internally, it needs a bit more work, and we don’t feel like we’ll be ready to share it with you until early next year. It’s very important to us that the phone experience for Hearthstone is just as accessible as the tablet and PC versions. One of the biggest challenges with that is revamping the user interface so it feels intuitive and offers the same quality Hearthstone experience, but this time from the palm of your hand.”

For those not in the know, Hearthstone is a free to play digital trading card game in which players collect and trade cards to form powerful decks. Once a deck is constructed, players engage in matches over Blizzard’s online network, Battle Net.

Initially released March of this year for Windows and OS X with an April follow up for the iPad, mobile phone gamers have been anxiously awaiting the release of Blizzard’s latest entry into the famed Warcraft franchise. Stay tuned to get more updates as they come.
