5 Android stories you should have read this week

Arena of Valor Android

Ah, the weekend. Unless you’re one of the unfortunate few who have to work, you can basically do whatever you want. And we know exactly what you want – to catch up on the best Android news from the week.

Luckily for you, Droid Gamers is here to round it all up in one place. So without further ado, read on to learn all about the top five Android stories we covered this week.

We reminded you why you should play Arena of Valor

Arena of Valor is an incredibly successful MOBA that’s been dominating the Asian mobile charts for some time. Now, those of you who live in Europe can finally see what all the fuss is about.

If you love MOBAs, it’s well worth checking out. It’s gorgeous, has all the trimmings you look for in the genre, and a rather unique training mode to help get you familiar. Grab it now on Google Play only in Europe.

Paladins Strike is an upcoming MOBA based on the popular hero shooter, Paladins

MOBAs were all the rage this week, it seems, as we uncovered an upcoming new one in Paladins Strike. If you recognise the name, that’s because it’s based on the hero shooter, Paladins.

It plays like a traditional MOBA with guns though. You’ll move around in third person, capturing points, shooting enemies, and using special abilities. We’re not sure when it’s out, but you can sign up for the alpha now on the official site.

The beautiful RTS Mushroom Wars 2 arrived on Android fully cross compatible

Mushroom Wars 2 has been out on iOS for some time, but finally arrived on Android this week. It’s also completely cross compatible at launch, so you can play the wealth of multiplayer modes with your friends no matter their device.

There’s a ton of single player content to battle through here as well, with four campaigns and a whopping 50 missions in each of them. Grab it right now on Google Play.

Asphalt 8: Airborne got a massive update adding bikes to the experience

Asphalt 8: Airborne may have launched four years ago now, but it’s showing no signs of stopping just yet. In fact, this week it got a massive update that adds motorcycles to the experience.

Even if you’ve played Asphalt 8 to death, bikes provide an entirely new way to play. There’s even a new Moto Blitz mode to experience them in. Go and grab it right now on Google Play.

Final Fantasy XV is coming to mobile with cute chibi-style visuals

Last, but certainly not least, we learned that Final Fantasy XV was heading to mobile soon – though not how you might think.

Though the experience is apparently going to make it over as close to the console version as possible, the style will be a cutesy chibi. We’ll have to wait until fall to see for ourselves though.
