Genshin Impact Is Getting a New Map Region and More in Its 1.2 Update, Coming on December 23rd

Genshin Impact, the phenomenally popular gacha RPG from developer miYoHo, will be updated to version 1.2 on December the 23rd.

The update, named “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon”, will feature a map expansion called Dragonspine, a frozen mountain range south of Mondstadt.

Dragonspine is home to all manner of unique creatures that are new to the game, as well as a lost ancient civilisation, rare artifacts, recipes for 4-star weapons, and more.

It’s not picnic, though. Dragonspine’s year-round snow makes it a treacherous environment to traverse. So treacherous, in fact, that the update contains a new Sheer Cold bar, forcing you to seek warmth.

The Chalk Prince and the Dragon, meanwhile, is a seasonal event that will take place in Dragonspine. It will see you joining Albedo, the Chief Alchemist, as you investigate a mysterious sword with the power “Festering Desire”.

Two new 5-star characters will be available as part of the event – Albedo and Ganyu, a half-human archer.

Genshin Impact 1.2 will be along on the 23rd. In the meantime you can download the game right now for free on the Google Play Store.
