Reports Suggest Apex Legends Mobile is Being Developed by Tencent

We’ve been looking forward to Apex Legends coming to mobile ever since, well, ever since Apex Legends first came out on PC and console. And we’re starting to get more news about the upcoming port. The latest piece of info – it looks like Tencent is developing the game, with Respawn overseeing the process.

That shouldn’t come as a massive surprise. Tencent was behind Call of Duty: Mobile and the portable PUBG Mobile, so it’s definitely got some pedigree when it comes to turning amazing console and PC shooters into amazing mobile shooters.

We don’t have any other concrete news about the game as of yet. All being well it should come out, at least in soft launch, in the next couple of months, but beyond that the time-scale is unknown.

Apex Legends is a battle royale game with some super interesting twists. You pick a character at the start of a fight, and they all have special moves they can unleash to change the flow of a scrap.

It’s got a whole bunch of modes and some bright ideas that keep it fresh. It’s also got loads of boxes to open, a closing ring and a super cool map that’s packed full of nooks, crannies, open spaces and a flying party boat.

We’ll keep you up to date as and when we get more information about the mobile version of Apex Legends, but what do you think? Are you excited to get your hands on the game? What do you think about Tencent taking over development duties? Let us know in the comments section.
