The Best Android Games of March 2022 – A Musical Story, Irregular Recruits and More

Since it’s the last weekend in March, we thought it was about time to round up the very best games that have landed on the Play Store over the last four weeks or so. So that’s what we’re going to do.

This month has been a pretty interesting one. We’ve had a lot of weird games, mashing up genres and ideas or just running off on their own and seeing what they find. We might get more in the next couple of days, who knows?

You can click on the names of the games below to download them from the Play Store. And if you’ve got a favorite that landed in March that isn’t mentioned here, make sure you let us know in the comments section.

Arabilis: Super Harvest

A match-stuff puzzler with a green-fingered bent. Plant and merge your crops, try and keep pests and animals from destroying your harvest and have a lovely old time while you’re doing it.

When the Past was Around

A stylish point-and-click adventure that sees you exploring the past of a young woman. A young woman who fell in love with an owl called The Owl. There are puzzles, there are questions and there’s a bittersweet story about heartache and loss.

A Musical Story

A rhythm action game about rebuilding fractured memories and also rocking out a bit. A Musical Story builds a tale of a troubled musician through flashback and songs. And it’s really rather brilliant.

The Impossible Game 2

The long-awaited, super challenging sequel. It’s full of bright, cruel ideas, and while it’s title might suggest you’ll never finish it, the possibility of success is the carrot that’s going to keep you charging into all of its sticks. There’s a level editor too.

Irregular Recruits

This one mixes together deck-building, auto-chess and a few more fantasy RPG ideas to create something compulsive and unique. Collect your army, battle against a variety of foes, and get ready for some permadeath as well.

Cat Museum

A weird, creepy, sometimes charming and often cat-filled experience that sees you exploring a museum that you’ve somehow become the curator of. There are gross apparitions, intriguing characters and a dramatic story to uncover.

Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus?

An FMV adventure that sees you trying to figure out which member of your family poisoned the titular Uncle Marcus prior to a zoom-call edition of the annual family quiz. It’s got an all star cast, it’s really well written and you’re gonna have loads of fun figuring out whodunnit.

Phobies

A strategy battler that uses the darker corners of the human mind to build up its roster of fighters. There are some neat ideas here, different kinds of multiplayer and a tactical bent that’s going to keep you entertained for hours.

Unreal Life

A pixel-art point-and-click adventure about a young girl who’s lost her memories and a talking traffic light. The objects you interact with can show you the past, and you need to use that information to piece together that’s happened.

Selma and the Wisp

A gloomy puzzling platformer with shades of Limbo thrown in there. It’s got multiple characters for you to control at the same time, plenty of darkness to navigate and some arcade sections too.
