Another day and more information comes out regarding the Amazon App Store for Android. This time, however, there may be some things you don’t know just yet about it or why certain companies, such as Gameloft, have decided to use it instead of the Android Market. So read on, it is pretty interesting.
Farm Frenzy is next in line along the Amazon Free Paid App of the Day train! Normally $1.99 and with between 50,000 and 250,000 downloads on the Android Market, this game has been a hit among those who took the time to rate it. The game has kept a rating of 4.5/5 stars and can get pretty crazy at times.
And now coming into the Android Market is…. Clash of the Mages! Clash of Mages is tactical game built around mage duels, nice graphics, atmospheric music, simple rules and endless gameplay. Developed by Starwind Games, the gist of the game is that it is an old style game with a new twist and cross-platform gameplay.
Gameloft, a developer who has spurned the Android Market due to piracy and malware issues has been reported recently stating that they are indeed going to give it a go on the newly minted Amazon Appstore. This is great news for anyone wanting a Gameloft game but not wanting to use the Gameloft store.
PerBlue, a company known for creating the smash hit MMORPG Parallel Kingdom apparently has created a super secret Beta sign-up website for another game they are working on. There are no details on the project or anything that I could find but there is a survey/sign-up through Google if you’re up for it.
As you all know Amazon now has their own Android Appstore and in it they have the ability to offer paid apps and games for free on a daily basis, just like Apple’s App Store. Today, for us Android users that free game is Doodle Jump. Normally 99 cents, Doodle Jump has over 250,000 downloads in the regular Android Market and is rated at 4.5/5 stars.
