Anime Vanguards Karem Guide
Let’s find out everything there is to know about Karem!
Who Is Karem?
Karem is an exclusive unit with the fire element. He has a placement limit of 3 and costs 2,000 Yen to place… which is rather expensive! You can upgrade him a total of 6 times. On upgrade 5, he gains Flame Absorption.
This unit also has one passive ability:
- Frostburn
- Whenever Karem attacks an enemy with Burn afflicted, remove the Burn and then freeze the opponent for 2 seconds. This also applies a DoT for 50% of the unit’s damage for 7 seconds.
How To Get Karem
You can obtain him by summoning him from the Winter Event Banner. To do this, head to the ‘Summons’ area in the lobby and select the event from the left-hand side. The Winter Event has its own currency, Presents, that you get by completing Winter Portals. You have a 0.05% chance to get Karem for every summon.
Karem Evolution
You can evolve Karem into Karen (Chilled). His placement limit remains at 3, but can now be upgraded 11 times! The cost to place him also stays at 2,000 Yen.
On upgrade 8, he gains a new passive ability:
- Thermoacoustic
- If 20 enemies are inflicted with Burn/Frostburn (or have the fire element whilst in the unit’s radius), swaps move to Refrigeration (Full AoE). When in Full AoE, damage increases by 30%, and range increases by 10%.

- x15 Yellow Essence
- x10 Blue Essence
